Prior to founding ResiliEnt Business Solutions, Robert Swinney’s career spanned more than 35 years in the areas of Operations and Customer Service in the Information Technology field where he proved to be an extremely capable organizer and leader.
Robert Swinney’s career began with Wang Laboratories as a Field Engineer where he was quickly promoted into management with roles as the Branch Service Manager for Kentucky and then Area Service Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Area where he was recognized on multiple occasions for financial performance and profitability. His Kentucky Branch was consistently in the Top 5 nationally for client satisfaction over a 5 year period. Robert Swinney moved from Wang to Inacom Information Systems in 1995 where he was asked to start-up their Louisville, Kentucky Consulting Services Branch. He built one of the top performing Inacom Consulting Branches in three years with annual revenues exceeding 12 million dollars and was promoted to a corporate Program Manager and assigned to manage a 125 million dollar Y2K project for SunTrust Bank in 1998. This massive project involved a change-out of all 30,000 desktops, 2500 servers and the entire infrastructure at 1200 SunTrust locations over a 15 month period.
In 2000, Robert Swinney went to work for SunTrust where he developed and transitioned all distributed system services from external vendors to an internal support model using SunTrust resources. This effort resulted in a yearly savings of 6 million dollars to SunTrust. He also developed, implemented and managed an internal SunTrust Depot/Warehouse support structure throughout the SunTrust footprint to support on-going projects. In 2003, Robert Swinney was asked to create a Vendor Management program at SunTrust for the IT division and successfully developed and implemented the program.
He then moved to his current position as SVP Operations with ResiliEnt Business Solutions where he implemented and manages the Operations department. Robert Swinney has taken on many large projects in his career and excels at difficult tasks while making them successful with his organization skills, creativity and leadership. Robert Swinney displays exceptional skill in recognizing talent and developing individuals that contribute to the success of the company. His experience in working for manufacturers, resellers and clients gives him a thorough understanding of business drivers and needs.
